New York 1/2 Day Retreat
"Managing This Precious Human Life"
at The Eileen Fisher Learning Lab
Sunday, October 1, 2017, 1:00 - 4:30pm
I hope this finds you well and managing this life with some ease. Summer is nearing end and it has been full of life for me. I have co-lead the 200 hour Kripalu Teacher Training, travelled to the Italian Alps to co-lead Yoga & Hiking and now in California with family. We have spent days with our grandkids taking them kayaking, paddle boarding, watching the eclipse and being together. So many blessings and I don’t want to miss the moment.
However, amidst these amazing joys and blessings there have been challenging times for our country and for each of us. I often sit with the question, “What am I to do?. Perhaps you ask yourself as well. Certainly there are actions outside of ourselves and there are actions within.
My mentor, Sylvia Boorstein, reminds us as something ruffles the mind note: “Ah, this is what’s happening. Let’s see what happens next.” And sometimes we ask ourselves, “If this is what is happening, is there an action for me to take?” It asks me to pay attention, pause, breathe and listen inwardly.
Most recently I have been finding inspiration and solace while reading:
The Art of Living by Thich Nhat Hanh and The Book of Joy with His Holiness the Dala Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. When in California I join with sangha at Spirit Rock when Sylvia teaches Wednesday morning. These teachings and company shared help me manage this one precious life.
It is for that reason, I am happy to be returning to Westchester to Eileen Fisher Learning Lab in Irvington, on October 1st to come together again in sangha.
We will be in the season of autumn and the season asks us what can we each let go of. As the leaves fall, what needs to fall away to make room for ease, freedom and love? How do we keep our minds and hearts at ease amidst the flurry of these times? Amidst the flurry of any times. How are we managing this precious human life?
These are inquiries for us all. I have more to share about our time together but wanted to get word out to you so you can save the date and register early. I know that being together in community buoys my heart. When we come together we are in a safe place to speak, feel our hearts and tend to the inner life.
Please join us as we practice Yoga (Yin & Gentle Active) and Meditation, listen to ourselves and each other, tend to our hearts and feel into our inter-being in this precious human life.
